Koftgari is a type of Indian damascene technique used to decorate arms and weaponry. Historically, koftgari was brought to India by Persian craftsmen with Mughal rulers in the 16th century. Koftgari flourished under Mughal patronage and spread to the Rajput kings in Rajasthan and is still practiced by select Artisans in the Mewar region.

  • As this is made of two types of mild steel with varying percentage of carbon content, it is prone to rust in humid conditions. To avoid this issue, oiling it in regular intervels would be advisable.
